I wonder if there is some law of nature out there that prevents filks from being anything but completely lame. I have read very, very few good filks, only one, actually, and it was for a fandom I'm not even into. I like the idea behind a filk (a filk being a song fic, for those that don't know)--that is, a song inspiring a story--but putting the lyrics in with tiny chunks of text in between is just.. it's lame. Even if it's good text (which it, sadly, very often is not).

Now, if you are a filker, do not kill me. I just have read very few quality filks.. xx Maybe there's a horde of non-lame ones out there that I've yet to fall upon. xx
