Man.. we did a worksheet today in Algebra II that no one understood, and another one is coming tomorrow..and we're going to do even worse on that, since we haven't even asked questions on that section yet...So much for me continuing my A streak. :3; I'm trying very hard to do well in Chemistry this time around, though, to make up for the 85 I'm getting on this coming up report card..oh, school, how I hate thee.
My favorite class right now is, of course, English... I miss Mama G and all, don't get me wrong..but that class is incredibly easy since she's not here. We're reading a wonderful book called The Bean Trees that I'm actually reading voluntarily (I'm almost finished with it). Don't get me wrong, I love reading. But most of our assigned books were written many decades ago, and they're classics, and they are bloody, bloody, boring. Yes, Scarlet Letter was a good book, but I don't like Mr. Hawthorne's style. It's not as difficult to wade through as, say, Herman Melville (whose work another class is reading), but it's no picnic either. The Bean Trees is fairly contemporary, and its author (Barbara Kingsolver) is still alive (and in fact just released a new book). I very much enjoy studying contemporary fiction and we hardly ever do. xx History and French are fine... really, it's only Chemistry and Algebra II that give me any grief. Blarg.
Listening to 'You Make Me Sick' (by Pink.. that white chick who sounds black.. X3;) makes me want to work on my Draco/Hermione story... X3
