Well folks, I'm at college. Obviously the getting Internet thing went way better than expected. XD However, the built in lamp on the desk is all screwed up--frayed, scary wire, copper showing. So someone has to come in and fix it, and of course now I'm getting paranoid that in the process of doing this they'll drop the lamp (it's one of those flat lights, attached to the bottom of the desk hutch) and it'll crash onto Leliel's delicate, expensive monitor, and et cetera. n_n Ahh, I'm so neurotic.
It's not so bad. My roomie and I have very little in common, and she freaks out easily... (I think she's OCD... there was a book about it on her bed, and she certainly shows the symptoms) but she's not mean or anything, just.. um... kind of a flake I guess. I hate to say that with her right behind me (facing her computer), but I mean... next to her, I'm a together person. And if you know me, you know I'm not at all together. It's a little weird, I guess, because even though my brother is an ass, he's a very together ass, and he's a reliable ass. ^_^;
It's just that we helped her move in yesterday, right..and today, when I was bringing my stuff, she was nowhere to be found most of the day. Her parents didn't even know where she was. My dad set up both of our computers and hooked them into the ethernet ports (tho we're not on the Rhodes network), and my Mom helped her set up other things--like her computer chair, and the fridge cart, and stuff. (we have a mini-fridge :) It's not like I needed/wanted her help for anything, it's just a little weird that she wasn't around all day today, and when she did show up, the parents were leaving. I was worried about her. :\
But.. you know, it's OK. I think I'll just miss 'home' the most, because I identify my house as home and my body hasn't realized that this is home now, at least it will be home for a long time. Also I am gonna miss my kitties very much. I miss Patches already, and it's only been a day. ;___; I dunno, this won't be easy, I don't think... but at least my computer's OK, right now. That's good. Need Leliel. =P
Other problems besides the lamp: still haven't had photo taken for ID card (neither has Whitney). Schedule is ALL messed up. Must fix that. ^_^;; Need new computer chair. I'm using the school provided one now, because mine at home is too large and in charge for this room. Gonna get a smaller one. Hoping this chair is not diseased. Do not want to die of a disease, that is weak.
I met one person who likes anime. Interestingly enough, her name is Catherine Bloom. (Gundam fans will understand why that is Funny). She's nice, and we are in Williford together, but she doesn't live near me, so I don't know how much I'll see of her. Still, it's nice to know there's at least one person who knows about anime and calls it anime (as opposed to Japanimation), even though I don't think she's as enthusiastic as me... she does like Gundam Wing though. XD
