I went Christmas shopping today... thank God I only have to do THAT once a year... I say this mostly because, being a loser who cannot drive, I have to go with my mother, who inevitably wants to do a million other things besides what we set out to do. I did emerge mostly victorious however, even though the mall was SHEER MADNESS (which is to be expected, as Christmas draws nigh). As we were leaving we saw an ambulance in the parking lot, but we were too far away to know what was going on... -_-;

Kurai has a new (crappy :B) layout featuring Cadmiel (the chainsmoking angel of destiny XP), just 'cause, but apparently the link text background does not match the rest of the background (although it looks the same on my computer, but that could just be Malfactor) and even though I took Kai's advice on how to fix it, I do not know if it worked... I doubt that it did.. ^_^;; Oh well.. I think the subpage background looks kind of neat, at least.

Oh my God o_o I'm listening to the soundtrack for the Angel Sanctuary OVA, and the third track--it sounds JUST LIKE the Crystal Prelude (in just about every FF game ever^^;), near the end, and before then it just sounds straight out of a Final Fantasy game besides. Does anyone else have this CD? I want to know that I'm not insane. =P

I don't want to say too much about LoTR, for the sake of spoiling it, but I will say one thing at this point--the yaoi fangirls are going to be all over this, because there is a whole lot of manbonding and hugging going on. The Fellowship is composed entirely of men, and aside from Gandalf and Gimli, they're young, attractive men (okay, Boromir isn't that good looking [in my opinion :3;] and Sam is kind of plump, but I still think Sam is cute in general, in both appearance and the way he's so devoted to Frodo). Let me predict some pairings:
Frodo/Sam (in fact, there's already stories about this..)
Aragorn/Legolas (nevermind the fact that Aragorn is clearly head-over-heels for Arwen..)
and possibly Merry/Pippin XP
Perhaps that was a bit prematurely cynical, but... I guess we'll see.

Also, slightly off topic, I just think it's interesting to note that Frodo and friends are in their fifties when they set out on this task (Well, Frodo is fifty, I assume Sam, Peregrin and Meriadoc are around that age as well), and they look in their early twenties, which makes me wonder how hobbits age... since Bilbo is 111, and after the ring is gone, he definitely looks it.
Lord of the Rings was... AWESOME. AWE. SOME.

MYTHRIL, BABY!! MYTHRIL!!
It seems that I must tag along with my brother... I'd like to see it with friends, but they're going with family for the most part. I guess I'm technically going with family as well, but like I said, I'm just 'tagging along' because I'm not going to sit near him or any of the people he's likely to be meeting there. I haven't been to a movie by myself in... a long time. o_o If it's as good as it looks, I know I'll want to see it again, so maybe I can go a second time with friends.. if they want to.. -_-
Last night my parents watched American Pie together. Just prior to that, they went out spying on our Evil Renter for some people in Arkansas that he's also scamming (in regards to a truck), saying, to our faces, that they were going on a 'secret mission.' I think insanity must run in the family or something.
This will sound corny and sappy, but... what do you do when the thing you want most for Christmas can't be bought in a store?
I want to go see Lord of the Rings... but I do not want to go alone... ._.

Poo~st. x_x
Speaking of religious type business... This is an interesting article, methinks, and confirms much that I already suspected. Not that it bothers me: lord knows I abuse symbols, even though I do try to learn their meaning and history...
I'd just as soon leave it in, Nichole... it gives the chapter.. um.. weight..and relevancy, and stuff. ^^; And there's definitely mothers who would be like that, so it's not unrealistic either.. I don't know, I'm crazy, it's your story.. but I liked it. I also liked the little flashback.. gee, I wonder who that boy is. X3 Poor boo.

It's nearly ten.. but I don't have to go to bed because I don't have to go to school tomorrow until 12:15.. w000~t (Sorry, my brother has been saying that a LOT lately and it's kind of seeping over onto me x__x)

I also heard, a little bit, from Ali, which is good, because I hadn't talked to her (or Larith) in a while and I was beginning to grow somewhat concerned ^^;
W00t!!! I'm exempt from my math exam!! This means three (3) wonderful things: first, I got a B for the six weeks, second, hey, I'm exempt, and third, I don't have to attend school AT ALL on Wednesday! Also I scored a 100 on my Macbeth in-class..and the grade I gave myself on our timed writing was half that of what my teacher gave me (it's still only a 6 out of 9, which is not that great, but I personally thought I deserved a 3...).

...of course, I did get a C in physics and I'm NOT exempt from that exam, but... um.. you win some, you lose some, I guess. =P
New Karma (yesterday)...

I find it very amusing that in his foreword of the edition of Lord of the Rings that I have (a three volume set published by Ballantine Books, which according also to the foreword is one of the only legitimate reissuings of the books and that all people who believe in courtesy should buy it and no other, since apparently there were other reissues done without his knowledge and/or consent ^^;), Tolkien writes at length about how the book is not related to any of the events of his time and is not 'allegorical or topical.' This is amusing to me because my A.P. English teacher always stresses finding out the historical events surrounding the writing of a book, for obviously they must have surely had an impact on the story.
