Aw, man, I don't know when it was that I last had so much fun. XD XD Myself and my anime club went to the Hickory Ridge mall today, dressed as anime characters.. well, a lot of people came, but only a portion dressed up. I attempted to be the Mad Hatter/Belial from angel sanctuary, but I didn't dye my hair red or do anything elaborate like Kai, who was wearing a very nice, home made Dragonslayer (from Escaflowne) outfit. Emiko dressed up as Duo Maxwell (very nice costume as well), and our boy Chris was Dorothy..complete with skirt, pantyhose, blond wig, and scary forked eyebrows XD; According to Kai they received some bitchy remarks, but what're you gonna do. We also had a Gendo Ikari, a Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita, a Prince Ashitaka, Oji something from the new anime Black Heaven, a Gene Starwind, a Pan (from DBZ)... hmm.. I think that was most everyone who dressed up. Two other girls were going to come as Lina Inverse and Sailorjupiter, respectively, but they got in a car accident (fortunately were -not- hurt, though Lina's truck is decimated x__x) and were out of costume when they arrived.

At first we mostly sat around and talked, and then we walked, visiting Suncoast (which was hot as hell xx) and skipping into Hot Topic for a moment..and we rode on the carousel, since that area was the only place were photograph taking was allowed..as I was buying a ticket, the lady there asked me 'What are all you people anyway' and I said 'Uhh, cartoons' and she said 'I thought you were satan worshippers' XD;;

But our Ashitaka said a lady came up to him and praised us for doing this, because it 'made people smile.' Aww :B

And on top of that, I met Ali and Laris and it was great :D :D They are twice as funny and nice offline as on. I could not stop laughing the whole way through our lunch in the food court, and when we rode the carousel, they stayed off to watch us and be silly XD; It was great and wonderful to meet them, I am only sad that Cal-Tan was unable to make it.

There was also a lot of hugging, from not only Ali and Laris but many of my other anime comrades. I liked the hugging. :3 It was a great sense of togetherness we had, I think, trotting through the mall in our troupe. I think there were about 20 people in all (my brother, who came as a guy in a DBZ t-shirt with a camera, was counting on the way home), which is not too shabby.

As an aside, after everyone disbanded my brother and I went down to the end of the mall where the Goldsmith's dept. store was located, and there was a live bunny outside the book store. :3 I petted it :3

Anyways, yes. I had lots and lots of fun and many people took fotos, but I don't know when they'll be developed and given to fearless leader Kai for scannage.
I shall post what I read in Tengu's blog concerning addr to reassure all (and myself, sinc kurai is with addr as well :b;):

That's right, Maj. PHEAR MY L33T WRATH. XD

And it's just getting started, for I have a Plan.
Oh, yeah, I'm a moron. Sorry I didn't link you before, Kirana.
Someday, sometime, I, too, will have my own fanfiction section on fanfiction.net! AHAHAHAAA!!!

....well, maybe not. But a girl can dream. XD;
WARNING: There will be several uses of 'fuck' in this post. That is because I am pissed off.

Sometimes I wonder if there's anyone out there who really understands what soulbonding is. It seems like, considering Kirana's rant, that whoever she knows obviously hasn't a clue. Look, people, this is not something you control. This is not something you have a handle on. Soulbonds are not RP shades of yourself that you can lock up or put away whenever you don't want them anymore, nor are they even something that you should boast about. I'd like for anyone to name me one time, anywhere, where I have said that SBing makes you a better writer. I don't believe I have, and I never will, because it doesn't. It's just something that happens. They're there, in your mind, hanging out, remarking on things, harrassing you. That's what it is. You can't pick and choose your SBs, they just barge in, uninvited. Maybe they're gone the next day. Maybe they come back. It's different for everyone, which is why it's so hard to define. But I'll tell you right now what it is NOT, and if anyone says it's this, then they are using the word incorrectly and need to bloody well find something else.

It is NOT a magical device that makes you a better writer or even better acquainted with your characters.

It is NOT an excuse to condescend.

It is NOT for you to pick and choose your favorite canon characters and do whatever you want with them. I've got nothing against people who do that, mind you, that's what fanfic is all about, but that's not soulbonding. I rarely EVER get my favorite characters, and when I do, they stay for like a day and then they're gone.

It is NOT for you to build up a harem.

And it is NOT a psychological disorder that needs treatment. If your 'SBs' tell you do things that are against the law and you go out and do them, then you have issues, man. You need fucking help.

And all of you that do the above need to stop fucking using the term and get something else, because I'm sick of it being bad-mouthed by creeps like you. Especially the people that think you need to SB to have writing talent. Get a fucking life. Seriously.

Hey, Katfluff... that board you linked to a while back is the board for the Anime Federation, which is an anime domain group (which Kurai is a part of :B). It's supposed to be private, but, things happen I suppose... mostly it's private because we use it to vote on new admissions. This is why I usually just say 'yes' or 'no' when I vote, because I don't want people taking any criticisms I have the wrong way.. x__X I'm very picky about what I consider to be a good website.. at least, I feel like I am when it comes to anime domains because I don't like hardly any of them.

I like nice design, of course, who doesn't, but if that's all that's there, then, I'm sorry, that is not a good website to me. Domains with little, generic, or no substance are not places I'd return to. Domains with these and nice but not navigable design are the worst. x__x Everyone designs for IE, and I'm still a Netscape user, primarily, though I will open up IE if I have to. I don't understand why people get so defensive when people complain about their sites not being usable through one browser or another. If you don't like it, make an alternate or simplify your design. It doesn't have to look spectacular, it just has to work. Lately people are forgetting one of the most important and funadmental design principles

FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION.

I know this is meant to be applied to architecture, but it can work just as well for websites. The Internet was created primarily as a resource for information, was it not? So shouldn't your design accomodate the information you have to offer in the most efficient way possible? People will probably counter this by saying that they consider web design to be a valid art form. I don't disagree with this, but if you want to be a true designer, you will create layouts that are both beautiful and easily functional, on various browsers. I believe that is the true test of a l33t designer--if you can make it navigable, but it's simple, then that's fine, if you can make it navigable and beautiful, then you're good. Because a lot of people can make beautiful layouts--they're just not functional. One of the things that decreases ability to navigate a whole lot are those nasty DHTML scrollers. They're great when written properly, but for the most part I've found that people just don't code them right. x__x Also I like being able to scroll at my own pace, even if it means the addition of an 'ugly' scroll bar.

People might not think I have the right to talk about this because I have the design skills of an unusually uncreative onion bulb. I find it rather annoying, to be honest, when people say you can't judge something because you don't do it. I visit a lot of websites, I've seen a lot of designs, I know what they're made of (yes, despite the fact that I use Netscape Composer, I DO know a fair amount of HTML code.. I'm just so very, very lazy =P). And even if I didn't, I think I'd still have the right. Like it's been said before, movie critics don't generally make movies, and so on. Yet they know a great deal about the medium and thus are qualified to judge it. I feel that I know a fair amount about webdesign, despite not having a shred of ability. :B;

And of course, no one has to listen to me. Most of the people I know and whose sites I admire are perfectly wonderful in their designs; that's why I like their sites. So if you're reading this and think I'm thinking about you, chances are I'm not. XD;
Wooo, I love your new layout Nichole *__* That picture is ultra-sexy *__* Speaking of which, I finished Chrono Cross last night..well, not really finished, but I beat the game for the first time. I used the Chrono Cross, so I supposedly got the 'good ending'...it was odd.. x__x

I love Del's new layout too XD XD ooh, and Kristen's is pretty...

Kitkat (if I can call you that) don't trash picture ;___;
I'm so tired of being disappointed.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm your friend...and then I remember that it's because I love you.

Sunday, April 08, 2001

Arr, I finished TWO characters today..
My fruit character, Buckeye..and my Iniquity Knight Cerin (for Dream Senshi) (who's been in development for-EVER x__x)...
Kylee, I like your L.O.S.E.R... and I love Norris-bug from Chrono Cross. He's a permanent staple of my party :B; And also an SB that floats in and out. I like people who are at first portrayed as being on the bad side but are revealed to actually be Nice Guys..and he's pretty useful for me, I use him as a healer and he has a good acceleration and a decent attack power as well. Plus he looks super sexy when he does Top Shot and Sun Shower XD;
Extreme frustration... at least I have coke.. x__x
